Bang, Bang: Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande and Jessie J are among the latest group of 2014 American Music Awards performers, which also includes Lil Wayne, Wyclef Jean and Magic!
Previously announced performers include 5 Seconds of Summer, Mary J. Blige, Garth Brooks, Charli XCX, Fergie, Selena Gomez, Imagine Dragons, Lorde, One Direction, Sam Smith, Taylor Swift and Pitbull, the night’s host.
The 2014 American Music Awards will broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Additional performers and presenters will be announced soon.
The AMAs are produced by Dick Clark Productions. Allen Shapiro and Mike Mahan are executive producers, Barry Adelman and Mark Bracco are co-executive producers, and Larry Klein is producer.
Ariana Grande was looking elegant as she took the stage at the “2014 American Music Awards.” The performance was touted as her duet with The Weeknd, “Love Me Harder.” But before the Canadian artist joined her on-stage, Grande treated fans to a slower, jazzy take on “Problem.”
Her uptempo hit took on a whole new life and meaning with the jazz saxaphone accompaniment and her exploratory vocal performance.
When The Weeknd joined her, Grande proved she was just getting warmed up. Before long, her signature vocal gymnastics were on full display as she gave a powerful performance.
Some singers struggle with live performances, while others just soar. Grande has her critics and her devotees, much like the singer she is most compared to, Mariah Carey. One thing’s for certain, though, she knows how to put on a show.
Sia, The Weeknd and AWOLNATION join songstress Ellie Goulding and Beyoncé on the upcoming soundtrack accompanying the film adaptation of E.L. James novel “Fifty Shades of Grey,” Republic Records confirmed Jan. 13. The soundtrack will be released Feb. 10, but is available for pre-order on iTunes.
The “Beyhive” leader contributes two songs to the list, “Haunted” (Michael Diamond Remix) and an update to the 2003 hit “Crazy in Love” featuring now-husband Jay-Z, which has been heard in trailers for the film.
Veteran artists will lend their voices to the film, as well. In addition to Oscar-winning artist Annie Lennox’s rendition of “I Put a Spell on You,” the soundtrack also features classics from the Rolling Stones and Frank Sinatra. Award-winning composer Danny Elfman contributes two pieces, “Ana and Christian” and “Did That Hurt?”
Ahead of the track list reveal, Goulding released audio to her song “Love Me Like You Do” on her Facebook page Tuesday. The song is available on iTunes.
Universal will release the film Feb. 13. In the meantime, check out the audio to Goulding’s song above.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” star Dakota Johnson is on full display in The Weeknd’s new music video for his single “Earned It,” which is on the highly anticipated movie’s soundtrack.
Not only is she stripped down, she’s hung up on the ceiling by ropes dangling her just above the R&B crooner’s funky head of hair.
Sam Taylor-Johnson, the filmmaker who directed the Feb. 13 Universal Pictures release, also directed the music video.
Watch the video, featuring some other scantily clad women, as well. Jamie Dornan, who plays Christian Grey in the adaptation of author E.L. James‘ erotic novel, is absent.
The 2015 BET Awards attracted 6.3 million total viewers on the main cable channel Sunday, down 20 percent from last year’s June 29 offering. Last night’s event grabbed an additional 200,000 viewers on sister channel Centric’s simulcast.
The near-four-hour telecast, hosted by “Black-ish” co-stars Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, ranked as cable’s top awards show among adults 18-49 and in total viewers this year.
In 2014, the Chris Rock-hosted awards show reached 7.9 million total viewers — up about 100,000 from the prior year. Last year’s total was good enough to mark the second-highest BET Awards ever, trailing only 2009’s show, which played out as a tribute to Michael Jackson.
Sunday’s primetime airing featured tributes to Smokey Robinson and Janet Jackson, as well as a Bad Boy Records reunion. Performers also included The Weeknd and Alicia Keys, the cast of “Empire,” Tori Kelly, Ciara, Robin Thicke, Meek Mill, Chris Brown, Jason DeRulo and Janelle Monae.

Stephen Hill, BET’s president of Programming, Connie Orlando, BET’s senior vice President of Specials, Music and News and Lynne Harris Taylor, BET’s vice president of Specials, served as executive producers for the “BET Awards” 2015, along with Jesse Collins, chief executive officer of Jesse Collins Entertainment.
Miley Cyrus will pull double duty as both host and musical guest on “SNL’s” Season 41 premiere next month.
Over the following two weeks, The Weeknd and Demi Lovato will perform their hits, respectively.
The “Wrecking Ball” singer was previously announced as the first host of the season on Oct. 3, to be followed by Amy Schumer and former cast member Tracy Morgan.
On Sunday, Cyrus served as host of the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, where she performed the song “Dooo It” off of the surprise new album “Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz,” which the pop star made available to stream for free online.
The long-running sketch show also announced this week that comedian Jon Rudnitsky will be added as a featured player when the show returns next month, joining the Season 40 cast, all of whom are returning for the new season.
The Jennifer Lopez-hosted 2015 American Music Awards have closed the curtain, but not before boy band One Direction took home the Artist of the Year trophy. The Weeknd and Nicki Minaj also had big nights on Sunday.
The ABC telecast also featured a special tribute and song by Jared Leto and Celine Dion, respectively, dedicated to the victims of the recent Paris terror attacks. Later, Harrison Ford stopped by to debut a new clip from upcoming Disney film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Kendrick Lamar led all artists in nominations for the 58th annual Grammy Awards, landing 11 nominations including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.
Taylor Swift and The Weeknd were next with seven nominations each.
The Album of the Year category includes Lamar’s “To Pimp a Butterfly,” Swift’s “1989,” The Weeknd’s “Beauty Behind the Madness,” Alabama Shakes’ “Sound & Color” and the biggest surprise of the category, country singer Chris Stapleton’s “Traveller.”
Record of the Year nominees include The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face,” Swift’s “Blank Space,” Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk,” featuring Bruno Mars, and Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.” D’Angelo also landed an unexpected nomination in the category with “Really Love,” a song from “Black Messiah,” his first release in 14 years.
Song of the Year nods went to “Blank Space,” “Thinking Out Loud,” Lamar’s “Alright” and Wiz Khalifa‘s “See You Again” – and, in place of “Uptown Funk” or Sia’s “Elastic Heart,” Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush.”
Voters for the Best New Artist category bypassed Hozier, Chris Stapleton, Leon Bridges and Fetty Wap to nominate James Bay, Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly and Meghan Trainor and the biggest longshot, Australian indie-rock singer Courtney Barnett.
While Swift was the only artist to place works under her name on the Album, Record and Song of the year categories, Sheeran is represented on the Record and Song lists, and also earned an Album of the Year nomination as a featured artist on The Weeknd’s nominated album.
The seven nominations bring Swift’s lifetime total to 27 nominations, including four Record of the Year and three Album of the Year nominations. Lamar now has 20 nominations, including two in the Album of the Year category.
Artists receiving six nominations included rapper Drake, mastering engineer Tom Coyne and engineers/mixers Serban Ghenea and John Hanes.

Did the "Diamonds" singer think she was walking the red carpet or in line for a red velvet cupcake? Rihanna brings style and pizzazz to everything she does, but the Grammys weren't one of her best looks.

"Natural" Nicki Minaj
Nicki went au-naturel on the red carpet in a fitting black Tom Ford gown, with a plunging but classy neckline and slicked back hair to match. It was a toned down look for the "Anaconda" singer, who has walked the carpet with the Pope by her side at the 54th Grammy Awards

Charli XCX Tries to Get too "Fancy"
Charlie XCX isn't known for not playing by the rule, but this time she may have gone a tad too far. The "Boom Clap" singer stepped out on the Grammys red carpet wearing a pink Moschino tuxedo, bow tie and pink fur wrap, which had some fashionistas seeing red.

From red carpet mishaps to a somber public service announcement, TheWrap chooses the high and low notes from music’s biggest night
The Weeknd might feel like running for “The Hills” right now. Or maybe not.
The Canadian musician — real name: Abel Makkonen Tesfaye — has been slapped with a copyright infringement lawsuit over his chart-topping single “The Hills,” which the suit claims infringed on the song “Revolution,” featured in the film “The Machine.”
According to the lawsuit, composer Tom Raybould was commissioned to write the score for the film, which first publicly screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2013. The soundtrack for the film, which contained the track, was released in April 2014.
The suit claims that song co-author Emmaunel Nickerson — aka. Million Dollar Mano — sent Raybould a direct message on Twitter in March 2015, telling him, “I sampled your music might make it 2 the weeknd next album. Huge fan of what you did 4 the machine movie!”
“The Hills” was released in May, rising to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The suit names numerous other defendants, including Nickerson, Universal Music Group, Republic Records and Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
Alleging copyright infringement, unjust enrichment and other counts, Cutting Edge Music (Holdings), the licensee for Raybould’s score, is asking for a decree that “The Hills” infringes on “Revolution,” and unspecified damages — or, in the alternative on the infringement count, statutory damages “in the amount of $150,000 for each infringement.”
“The lawsuit speaks for itself, and I appreciate my publisher the Cutting Edge Group standing up for composers in situations like the one I’m in,” Raybould told TheWrap in a statement.
Added Cutting Edge CEO Philip Moross, “We at the Cutting Edge Group will always work aggressively to protect our copyrights and the composers who write music for us.”
After narrowing down from a list of hundreds of possible choices, we’re down to five nominees for this year’s Academy Award for Best Original Song.
The Weeknd’s “Earned It” from “Fifty Shades of Grey” was the Canadian singer’s second top 5 hit before he would rule the summer of 2015 with concurrent No. 1 hits in “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills.” The song’s video was directed by the film’s director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, and featured an appearance by star Dakota Johnson.
Sam Smith’s “Writing’s on the Wall” from “Spectre” is the first James Bond movie theme to reach No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart. Despite mediocre reviews and lackluster success outside the U.K., it is coming off a Golden Globe win for Best Original Song.
Lady Gaga and Diane Warren’s “Til It Happens to You” focuses on the idea of placing oneself in the shoes of someone who is suffering and trying to imagine the pain of what they are going through. Attached to the documentary “The Hunting Ground,” which details cases of sexual assault on American college campuses, the song is an effective emotional pull.
Oscar Nominee Snubs and Surprises: Ridley Scott, Sylvester Stallone and 17 More (Photos)
SURPRISE: Tom Hardy, nominated Best Actor, “The Revenant” Leonardo DiCaprio has dominated conversations surrounding the grueling shoot and high art of "The Revenant," but Hardy suffered right alongside him -- and was rewarded with a Best Supporting Actor nomination.
Fox
SNUB: "Carol," not nominated Best Picture Todd Haynes' dreamy period piece fetched acting, score and cinematography nominations but was shut out of the Best Picture race.
TWC
SURPRISE: "Ex Machina," nominated, Best Visual Effects Alex Garland’s dystopian love story drew a nomination for Best Visual Effects over Colin Trevorrow’s record-setting “Jurassic World,” which is literally filled with screaming, stomping, fighting dinosaurs.
Universal
SNUB: Ridley Scott, not nominated Best Director, "The Martian" The exclusion of Ridley Scott from the Best Director category is enough to make you want to move to Mars. While the longtime movie maestro claimed a Golden Globe award, he was left off of the 2016 list entirely, presumably bumped by surprise nominee Lenny Abrahamson.
Fox
SURPRISE: Sylvester Stallone, nominated Best Actor in a Supporting Role, "Creed" Conversations on Ryan Coogler’s “Creed” never roared like an audience at a Las Vegas bout, but here we are — Rocky Balboa himself is headed to the Dolby Theater as Sylvester Stallone joins a Best Supporting Actor category that includes Mark Ruffalo and Christian Bale.
Warner Bros.
SNUB: Idris Elba, not nominated Best Actor, “Beasts of No Nation” The excessively likable and highly pedigreed Elba could not earn a spot among the Best Actor crowd for “Beasts of No Nation” despite his edgy positioning with hot director Cary Fukunaga and streaming release platform Netflix.
Netflix
SURPRISE: Lenny Abrahamson, nominated Best Director, "Room" Sure, the director’s “Room” is an emotional marathon and, frankly, a technical feat for creating a universe within those tiny walls -- but it was surely a surprise to hear his name called for Best Director over Ridley Scott’s.
TheWrap
SNUB: “See You Again,” not nominated Best Original Song, "Furious 7" Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “Furious 7” anthem served not only as a radio hit but also a tribute to the late Paul Walker. It was all but guaranteed that the creative eyebrows of Puth and NBA-level tattoos of Khalifa would suit up to claim a Best Original Song Oscar come February. Sorry boys, maybe we’ll see you again.
Universal
SNUB: Amy Schumer, not nominated Best Original Screenplay, "Trainwreck" America’s acidic sweetheart Schumer was a fledgling leading lady in Universal’s “Trainwreck,” but had a serious shot at Best Original Screenplay for her comedy with Bill Hader and Brie Larson.
Universal
SURPRISE: “Inside Out,” nominated Best Original Screenplay Any Pixar film is a presumed nominee if not winner, but it was unexpected to see the Amy Poehler-fronted film nominated for Best Original Screenplay. We imagine all the writers attached are feeling only Joy.
Disney
SNUB: Johnny Depp, not nominated Best Actor, “Black Mass" Forget the Ed Harris makeup — Johnny Depp did an extraordinary job playing Whitey Bulger in Warner Bros. “Black Mass.” Many thought the A-lister would be among peers like Leonardo DiCaprio in the Best Actor category.
Warner Bros.
SURPRISE: Charlotte Rampling, nominated Best Actress, "45 Years" Charlotte Rampling was nominated for her role in "45 years" in the Best Actress category along with Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, Brie Larson and Saoirse Ronan. Rampling was a strong contender in October, but no one really talked about the film throughout the rest of award season. For example, she didn't receive a Golden Globe or SAG nomination.
Artificial Eye
SNUB: Will Smith, not nominated Best Actor, "Concussion" He delivered a spectacular performance as Dr. Bennet Omalu in "Concussion," but Will Smith didn't receive a nomination in the Best Actor category despite making everyone's radar following his Golden Globes nom.
Sony/Columbia
SURPRISE: "The 100-Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window and Disappeared," nominated Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling For the Danish film to be nominated at all came as a complete surprise because most hadn't even heard of this film. Released in May in only 76 theaters, it grossed $944,000 dollars. It took the place within the Makeup and Hairstyling category of films like "Cinderella," "The Danish Girl," "Ex Machina," "Black Mass" and "Star Wars," which all received Makeup Guild Awards nominations.
Music Box Films
SNUBS: "Peanuts"/"Minions"/"Good Dinosaur," not nominated Best Animated Feature Those three films were left out of the nominations for Best Animated Feature, replaced by surprises "Boy and the World" and "When Marnie Was There." "Minions" is an especially surprising omission because it made $336 million domestically and broke several box office records for Universal at the time.
Universal/Fox/Pixar
SNUB: Aaron Sorkin, not nominated Best Screenplay, "Steve Jobs" Sorkin is known as one of the best living screenwriters, and his adaptation of Walter Isaacson's "Steve Jobs" was one of this year's most anticipated scripts. Sorkin also received praise for the unique structure he established for the film, receiving a Golden Globe award for Best Screenplay on Jan. 10.
Getty Images
SNUB: Todd Haynes, not nominated Best Director, "Carol" Many who saw the film "Carol," starring lead and supporting actress nominees Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, praised it for how artfully it was put together. That makes Haynes' absence in the Best Director field perplexing.
Getty Images
SNUB: Steven Spielberg, not nominated Best Director, "Bridge of Spies" Spielberg directed "Bridge of Spies," one of the most well-received films of the year, yet, the two-time Oscar winner was left out of the Best Director category by the Academy this year.
Getty Images
SNUB: Tom Hanks, not nominated Best Actor, "Bridge of Spies" The two-time Academy Award winner delivered another stellar performance in "Bridge of Spies," but didn't receive a Best Actor nomination for the film, despite its six total noms. The film's supporting actor, Mark Rylance, was nominated for an Oscar this year.

The Academy sprung some last-minute names — and shut out sure things from awards season
iHeartMedia and Turner Broadcasting announced the finalists for the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Tuesday.
Taylor Swift leads the field with eight nominations and will vie for the first “Female Artist of the Year” award, while The Weeknd received seven nominations, including one in the inaugural “Male Artist of the Year” category.
Other artists who have received multiple nominations include Adele, Drake, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Luke Bryan and Sam Smith. All nominations are listed below.
This year’s ceremony will also feature performances by Justin Bieber and Meghan Trainor.
Among last year’s winners were Smith for Best New Artist, Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ It Down” for Country Song of the Year and Swift, who won Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Lyrics.
This year, the iHeartRadio Music Awards will feature 31 categories, including new awards for “Best Tour,” “Best Duo/Group of the Year” and “Latin Song of the Year,” as well as individual awards for “Artist of the Year” in music’s biggest genres.
“Our awards are not chosen by a mysterious panel of judges,” said John Sykes, president of iHeartMedia’s Entertainment Enterprises. “They are a true reflection of the artists and songs our listeners supported all year long.”
For the first time ever, tickets to the iHeartRadio Music Awards are going on sale to the general public. As a signature sponsor of the event, Capital One cardholders will have the opportunity to purchase them first.
The show will be televised live on TBS, TNT and truTV at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on April 3 and will be simulcast on iHeartMedia stations nationwide, as well as on the iHeartRadio digital music platform.

5 Best and Worst Moments From 2015 American Music Awards (Photos)
Worst: Cat got your tongue, Prince? Presenters didn't read the nominees' names or announce winners, with the former job being handled by the show announcer and the latter taking place courtesy of images on screens above the stage.
Best: Ariana Grande: You kiss your grandmother with that mouth? Oh yes, you do -- and it's very sweet. Grande not only debuted a new ditty on Sunday's AMAs, she also brought granny as a date. The two shared an especially sweet moment after the younger Grande captured the Favorite Female Artist - Pop/Rock award.
Best: Anna Kendrick tells everyone she hates them. Kendrick referenced a threesome and a dead hooker in her acceptance speech for "Pitch Perfect 2's" best soundtrack win, then ended by jokingly telling her collaborators on the movie, "I don't like you at all."
Worst: Get a room, you two. No, seriously, Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth -- absolutely no one within the reach of ABC's rabbit ears wanted to see you guys hardcore make-out after an otherwise nice duet. Clearly, Puth is "All About That Bass," considering how much his "Lips Are Movin."
Best: "Hello," Muppets. How sad is it that one of the best moments of the 2015 "American Music Awards" was a commercial? Well, it's true. Miss Piggy and Kermit spoofed Adele's "Hello" to plug their Tuesday sitcom -- and it worked for everybody on the Internet.
From Ariana Grande‘s grandma to a 30-second commercial overshadowing a three-hour awards show: Sunday night had a few highs and a handful of weird lows
Worst: Cat got your tongue, Prince? Presenters didn't read the nominees' names or announce winners, with the former job being handled by the show announcer and the latter taking place courtesy of images on screens above the stage.
Taylor Swift won three Grammys — Album of the Year for “1989,” Best Pop Vocal Album for “1989, and Best Music Video for “Bad Blood. Mark Ronson took home Record of the Year for “Uptown Funk.” Other big winners of the night include Kendrick Lamar, Alabama Shakes, and Ed Sheeran, who each won multiple Grammys.
And some of music’s biggest stars–like Swift, Adele, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and The Weeknd — all performed at the biggest night in music, as the Recording Academy announced the winners of the 2016 Grammys.

Grammys Musical Performances, Ranked: From Kendrick Lamar to Taylor Swift (Photos)
1. Kendrick Lamar After LL Cool J promised his performance would be "very controversial" Kendrick Lamar walked out as part of a chain gang to perform "The Blacker The Berry," surrounded by flames, dancers, and prison cells. It was the most political and powerful moment of the night.
Getty Images
2. Lionel Richie tribute: John Legend had the audience swooning as he kicked off the star-studded tribute to Lionel Richie with "Easy" by Richie's group The Commodores. Demi Lovato then took the stage with a fantastic rendition of Richie's "Hello;" next was Luke Bryan's turn with "Penny Lover." Meghan Trainor shined with "You Are the Sun," Tyrese Gibson rocked "Brick House" like nobody's business, and finally, a visibly touched Richie took the stage to sing "All Night Long" and bring down the house.
Getty Images
3. Little Big Town: Little Big Town reminds us that country music is all about talent and class. Surrounded by string instruments on stage, the group sang their hit "Girl Crush" and there was nothing little about this performance.
Getty Images
4. Lady Gaga: The singer delivered a show-stopping tribute to music legend David Bowie, ripping through a string of songs by the legend, who died in January at age 69. The performance began with the image of Gaga’s face painted with Bowie’s iconic Ziggy Stardust makeup .
Getty Images
5. Andra Day and Ellie Goulding: The pair complimented each other perfectly in a mashup of Day's "Rise Up and Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do." The vocals soared way above the formidable theatrics.
Getty Images
6. The Weeknd: It was a big night for The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. The singer, who is known for extreme stage fright, managed to pull off a strong performance with a mashup of his songs "In the Night" and "Can't Feel My Face."
Getty Images
7. Chris Stapleton and Gary Clark Jr. These two brought a raw blues sound to the Grammys stage with a tribute to the late great BB King. The duo was joined onstage by Bonnie Raitt, who introduced the tribute to the legendary guitarist who passed away on May 14, 2015.
8. Miguel: Miguel paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson, performing one of the King of Pop's most popular tunes, "She's Out Of My Life."
Getty Images
9. "Hamilton": The cast of "Hamilton" performed “Alexander Hamilton." The performance took place at the Richards Rodgers Theatre in New York City, and broadcast in the Staples Center via satellite. The performance rocked but it was Lin-Manuel Miranda's rap-themed acceptance speech for winning for Best Musical Theater Album that had everyone talking.
Getty Images
10. Glenn Frey tribute: The Eagles' Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, guitarist Joe Walsh, bassist Tim Schmit and Jackson Browne had the house cheering with their performance of "Take It Easy" in honor of Glenn Frey, who died last month.
Getty Images
11. Taylor Swift: We expected more from Taylor Swift. The pop singer kicked off the 58th Grammy Awards with a performance of "Out of the Woods." She pulled off the glittering jumpsuit, but as any "Swiftie" will tell you, she can do more ... a lot more.
Getty Images
12. Adele: We adore Adele. She can do no wrong by us, but this wasn't her best night. There seemed to be too much reverb during her "All I Ask" performance. Still, if you like big powerful ballads, this performance was for you.

13. Pitbull Pitbull closed out the awards ceremony with an upbeat, rhythm-happy performance. Of course, he had ample assistance in the form of "Blurred Lines" singer Robin Thicke, drummer Travis Barker ... and "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara, dressed as a taxi. Hail, yeah.

14. Justin Bieber: Beliebers aren't going to like this but Justin Bieber, Skrillex and Diplo turned in a suitable but ultimately forgettable performance of their Grammy-winning song "Where Are U Now?" The group also performed the new Bieber song "Love Yourself" off of his album "Purpose."

15. Alabama Shakes: Lead singer and guitarist Brittany Howard put on a powerfully aching performance of the group's “Don’t Wanna Fight.” The band had another good moment when it took home its first Grammy ever for best rock song and best rock performance.
16. James Bay and Tori Kelly: The singers got to show their stuff as they performed a medley which included Bay's "Let It Go" and Kelly's "Hollow."
17. Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt: This pair's performance had the looks, but the sound wasn't there. Underwood and Hunt sang a duet of his "Take Your Time" and her "Heartbeat," but even though people seemed to like their performance, there were some serious sound issues.

18. Stevie Wonder and Pentatonix: They performed a touching tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire's Maurice White, who died earlier this month. Wonder and the a cappella group performed "That's the Way of the World." We have any complaints, but they didn't blow our minds.

Grammy-winning singer The Weeknd has ended plans to join Rihanna‘s ‘Anti’ tour, according to reports.
The singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, had plans to join Rihanna for the European leg of her tour, but he may well be bowing out because of his own success.
“Due to some unforeseen changes with upcoming projects, The Weeknd will no longer be joining Rihanna on her upcoming international Anti World Tour,” read a statement from Live Nation and as reported in FADER. The news was also reported on the HotNewHiphop.com web site.
Big Sean will continue to support Rihanna on that leg of the tour, which begins June 17 in Amsterdam. Her current U.S. tour started March 12 and ends on May 18.

3. Little Big Town: Little Big Town reminds us that country music is all about talent and class. Surrounded by string instruments on stage, the group sang their hit "Girl Crush" and there was nothing little about this performance.

4. Lady Gaga: The singer delivered a show-stopping tribute to music legend David Bowie, ripping through a string of songs by the legend, who died in January at age 69. The performance began with the image of Gaga’s face painted with Bowie’s iconic Ziggy Stardust makeup .

5. Andra Day and Ellie Goulding: The pair complimented each other perfectly in a mashup of Day's "Rise Up and Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do." The vocals soared way above the formidable theatrics.

6. The Weeknd: It was a big night for The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. The singer, who is known for extreme stage fright, managed to pull off a strong performance with a mashup of his songs "In the Night" and "Can't Feel My Face."

10. Glenn Frey tribute: The Eagles' Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, guitarist Joe Walsh, bassist Tim Schmit and Jackson Browne had the house cheering with their performance of "Take It Easy" in honor of Glenn Frey, who died last month.

11. Taylor Swift: We expected more from Taylor Swift. The pop singer kicked off the 58th Grammy Awards with a performance of "Out of the Woods." She pulled off the glittering jumpsuit, but as any "Swiftie" will tell you, she can do more ... a lot more.

The finalist list for the Billboard Music Awards was unveiled on “Good Morning America” on Monday, and The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, and Drake have come away with the most nominations, including a nomination for Top Artist.
The Weeknd, who is a finalist for the first time this year, leads the pack with 16 nominations, followed by Bieber with 11. The other Top Artist nominees are Drake, Adele, and this year’s top Grammy winner, Taylor Swift. Drake has 10 nominations, and Adele and Swift each have eight.
Swift currently holds the record for most BBMA trophies with 20. She could add to that record this year or be overtaken by Bieber or Adele, who have each won 13 BBMA trophies in their careers. Drake and The Weeknd are each seeking their first BBMA trophy this year.
Billboard Music Awards finalists are based on album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring and social-media interactions — measurements that are tracked year-round by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound.
The show will be broadcast live from the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 22, at 8 PM ET on ABC. Hip-hop artist Ludacris and R&B star Ciara will host.
The 2016 Billboard Music Awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions. Allen Shapiro, Mike Mahan, Mark Bracco, Barry Adelman and Robert Deaton are Executive Producers.

As Donald Trump’s presence sparked protests across Southern California Wednesday, the polarizing GOP candidate also cost Jimmy Kimmel his musical guests for the night.
R&B singer The Weeknd and rapper Belly both canceled their performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” because Trump was set to appear on the episode, according to the Associated Press.
“I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world — from religion to race,” Belly said in a statement. “I just didn’t want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that majority of us don’t agree with.”
A representative for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” told TheWrap that the show had no comment on the matter.
The Weeknd won two Grammy Awards earlier this year, including best urban contemporary album for “Beauty Behind the Madness.” Belly has co-written many of The Weeknd’s hits, including “Earned It,” ”The Hills,” ”Into the Night” and “Often.”
The Weeknd appears on Belly’s song “Might Not,” which they were set to perform on Kimmel’s show.
Belly, who’s signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation management, went on to say, “I’m here on a campaign of positivity and love and to contribute what I can to music. I create songs people go to sleep and wake up to, songs that they fall in love to.
“For me, being Muslim and being somebody that appreciates my access here in America, I love the fact that I’m able to be here. To play my part in this business is a privilege and a beautiful thing. The fact that I could lose that ability through the actions of someone such as Donald Trump isn’t right to me. At all.”
Belly shared an Oscar nomination for best original song with The Weeknd for “Earned It,” which appears on the “Fifty Shades of Grey” soundtrack.
Fortunately, if Trump is elected president, both artists have other countries to fall back on. Belly, whose real name is Ahmad Balshe, was born in Palestine, but is now based in Ottawa, Canada. While The Weeknd, a.k.a. Abęl Makkonen Tesfaye, is from Toronto.
Donald Trump's Biggest Feuds, Fights and Foes: From Rosie O' Donnell to Univision (Photos)
Donald Trump is a businessman who doesn't seem to be afraid to make enemies. Good thing for him, because his blustery threats and relentless business strategy have caused him to run afoul of politicians, celebrities, models and various minorities. Here's just a small sample of the people Trump has locked horns with over the years.

In 1973, the U.S. Justice Department sued Trump's real-estate company for allegedly refusing to rent apartments in New York and Virginia to African Americans. Trump counter-sued the DOJ for defamation, seeking $100 million in damages. Trump settled the case out of court, only to get sued again three years later on similar charges and be investigated by the New York Human Rights Commission.

Arguably no celebrity has been a bigger target for Trump than Rosie O' Donnell. Their feud began back in 2006, when O'Donnell called Trump a "snake-oil salesman on 'Little House On the Prairie'" on "The View," to which Trump said he would "look forward to taking lots of money from my nice fat little Rosie."

In the 80s, Trump was a popular target of the New York satirical publication Spy Magazine. After they called him a "short-fingered vulgarian" in 1988, Trump predicted the magazine's demise and said that his fingers "are long and beautiful, as, it has been well documented, are various other parts of my body.”
At the start of his campaign, Univision dropped Trump's Miss USA pageant from their programming after his comments about Mexican immigrants. Trump responded by suing the network for $500 million. The lawsuit was settled in February.
Another feud he had with Univision came during an August press conference, during which he ejected the network's main news anchor, Jorge Ramos. Ramos had attempted to ask Trump about his immigration policies, to which Trump removed Ramos for speaking out of turn. "Go back to Univision," Trump said during the confrontation.
Former Miss USA contestant Sheena Monnin accused the pageant, which Trump owns, of being rigged on NBC's "Today." Trump responded by filing and winning a defamation lawsuit against Monnin, forcing her to pay $5 million.
Trump repeatedly attacked Sen. Ted Cruz during the Republican Primary. The most infamous attack came on March 22, which he threatened to "spill the beans" on Cruz's wife on Twitter after a Super PAC affiliated with Cruz posted a picture of Trump's wife, Melania, from a nude GQ photo shoot.
In 1993, Trump's Atlantic City casino was falling behind the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, which is owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. Trump's reaction to this? While testifying before a Congressional subcommittee, he claimed that "it’s obvious that organized crime is rampant on the Indian reservations" and that the Pequot "don't look like Indians to me."

In 2011, Trump repeatedly made demands for President Barack Obama's birth certificate, claiming he wasn't born in the United States. After Obama released the birth certificate, he made jokes at Trump's expense during the White House Correspondents Dinner.

In an interview with "Today," Cole Bolton, editor-in-chief of The Onion, revealed that they received a letter from Trump's lawyer threatening legal action for a satirical op-ed supposedly from Trump entitled, "When You're Feeling Low, Just Remember I'll Be Dead In 15 or 20 Years."
Trump also attempted to sue Bill Maher when the comedian joked on "Real Time" that if Trump could provide proof that his biological father is not an orangutan, he would donate $5 million to the charity of Trump's choice. Trump took him up on that offer, and then sued to try to get Maher to pay the money. The lawsuit was later withdrawn.

The success of "The Apprentice" inspired NBC to make a spinoff starring Martha Stewart, but Trump wrote an open letter blasting Stewart for the show failing to take off. "I knew it would fail as soon as I first saw it -- and your low ratings bore me out," he wrote.
As part of a May 15 front page New York Times article, former Miss Universe Alicia Machado accused Trump of using her weight problems as a media opportunity shortly after she won the Miss Universe pageant. "He's always been white trash, a racist, a horrible person," she said.

The GOP candidate was making enemies left and right long before this election cycle
After talking about him almost every night in his opening monologue, Jimmy Kimmel had Donald Trump on as his guest again Wednesday.
During the jovial interview, Kimmel suggested that the GOP candidate return to his reality TV roots and pick his vice president just as he did on “Celebrity Apprentice.”
“Why don’t you get these guys all in a room and then each week — it would be the highest rated show in television — you eliminate one person and then they go back to wherever the hell they came from?” he suggested.
They say it takes a village to raise a child, but apparently it takes a whole team of Trump supporters to come up with the nasty nicknames for his opponents, such as “Lying Ted, Crazy Bernie, Crooked Hillary,” as revealed later in the light-hearted banter.
“The team is right there,” Trump told Kimmel during his visit on Wednesday.
Kimmel opened the show with his usual brand of dry humor, telling the audience: “Tonight, those of you watching at home will have the rare opportunity to see Donald Trump on television.
“Trump is here in Hollywood, and I thought this was interesting, he has promised to make Hollywood Boulevard great again, by building a wall around Bill Cosby‘s star on the Walk of Fame. And Guillermo is gonna pay for it!”
Not everyone thought that Trump’s appearance on the ABC late-night show was funny, however, as R&B singer The Weeknd and rapper Belly both canceled their scheduled performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to protest the Republican candidate’s prior remarks about race.
“I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world — from religion to race,” Belly said in a statement, according to the Associated Press. “I just didn’t want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that majority of us don’t agree with.”
A representative for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” told TheWrap that the show had no comment on the matter.
A number of Trump protesters were also spotted on Hollywood Blvd., near Kimmel’s studio, before the taping at around 4 p.m. PT.
Earlier Wednesday, minor violence erupted at Trump’s rally near Disneyland in Anaheim, California, as pro- and anti-Trump groups threw verbal abuse at each other and police began arresting some protesters.
One trash can was set on fire, some protesters threw rocks, and large throngs of police tried to push the remaining demonstrators away, according to the Los Angeles Times.
At least seven adults and one juvenile were arrested over the course of the day, with many taken into custody after police declared an unlawful assembly.
